Takamatsu’s 71st chrysanthemum exhibition is open at Tamamo Park through November 23. Viewing the exhibition carries no additional charge, but visitors still need to pay park admission, listed at ¥300 for adults aged 18 and over.
The exhibition began on October 24 and is scheduled daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Displays include arrangements of twelve large-flowered chrysanthemum pots, bonsai-style beds and cascading displays. Takamatsu City and the Kagawa chrysanthemum growers’ association organise the event.
The city’s October 21 notice describes the exhibition as a way to improve cultivation skills and encourage flower horticulture, alongside public appreciation of plants and local tourism. This gives visitors a chance to see growers’ different training and display techniques.

高松市の玉藻公園で第71回高松市菊花展競技会が10月24日から11月23日まで開かれている。時間は午前8時30分～午後5時。菊花展自体の観覧は無料だが、公園入園料は別途必要で、18歳以上の一般は300円。大菊12鉢組花壇、盆栽花壇、懸崖花壇などを展示し、市と香川県菊友会が主催する。10月21日付の市の案内は、栽培技術の向上や花卉園芸の振興、市民の自然・花への関心、観光の活性化を開催目的としている。複数の仕立て方や展示方法から、栽培愛好家の技術に触れられる催し。
