Shiga has cancelled the Bus Day festival scheduled for October 24 at Pieri Moriyama’s outdoor car park. The prefecture announced the decision on October 23, citing forecasts of heavy rain and strong winds associated with a stalled front and an approaching typhoon.
The festival had been due to run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in parking area E. Organisers prioritised the safety of visitors, performers and others involved. The notice announces cancellation and gives no replacement date.
The festival was designed to introduce people to buses and encourage their use as part of the September 20 Bus Day programme. Shiga adopted its regional transport plan in March 2026, linking improvements in local transport with better everyday living. The original programme remains below the cancellation notice on the prefecture’s page; the October 23 update supersedes that programme.

滋賀県は10月23日、ピエリ守山の屋外駐車場Eゾーンで24日午前10時～午後3時に予定していた「バスの日まつりinびわこ」の中止を発表した。停滞前線と台風接近により大雨・強風が予想され、来場者や出演者等の安全を優先した。代替日程は示していない。バスへの理解と利用促進を目指す9月20日「バスの日」関連行事で、県は3月策定の滋賀地域交通計画に基づき地域交通の充実を進めている。公式ページ下部に残る当初の開催案内より、23日の中止告知が優先する。
