Niigata Keizai Shimbun reports that Sanjo Police Station and a Niigata prefectural police unit rearrested a teenager on October 19 on suspicion of involvement in a ¥550,000 fraud against a man in Nagoya. The alleged fraud took place on April 27–28.
According to police cited by the newspaper, accomplices posed as the victim’s son by phone, and the teenager allegedly collected the cash while pretending to be a lawyer’s son. Police say he admitted the allegation. The report concerns an arrest and allegations, not a conviction.

にいがた経済新聞によると、三条警察署と新潟県警の部署は、名古屋市の男性から現金55万円をだまし取る事件に関わった疑いで、少年を10月19日に再逮捕しました。容疑の対象となる出来事は4月27日～28日です。同紙が伝えた警察の説明では、共犯者が被害者の息子を装って電話し、少年は弁護士の息子になりすまして現金を受け取ったとされています。警察は少年が容疑を認めていると説明していますが、有罪が確定したことを示す記事ではありません。
