Employees and engineers at companies in Gifu Prefecture can apply by November 19 for a free five-session satellite-model programme at Gifu University. Ten places are available, with no restriction on industry or experience, the prefecture announced on October 22.
The workshops run from November 28, 2026, to March 27, 2027, with each session scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. Participants will learn how satellites work and practise electronics and programming before assembling models, developing missions and presenting their work.
Twenty high-school students are expected to join separately. The programme brings students, university researchers and company personnel together as part of efforts to develop people for the space industry and build a regional network.
Participating companies must also join the GIFU Space Business Council; membership is free, according to the announcement. Applications are through the form linked from the prefecture’s official notice.

岐阜県は10月22日、岐阜大学で人工衛星モデルを製作する全5回のプログラムについて、県内企業に勤務する社員・技術者10人を募集すると発表した。業種・経験は問わず、参加無料。応募期限は11月19日で、県の公式案内にあるフォームから申し込む。実施期間は2026年11月28日～2027年3月27日、各回午後1時～5時。人工衛星の仕組み、電子回路やプログラミングを学び、モデル製作、ミッションの検討、成果発表に取り組む。高校生20人が別途参加予定で、高校生、大学研究者、企業人材の交流を通じ、宇宙産業を支える人材と地域のネットワークの形成を目指す。参加企業はGIFUスペースビジネス協議会への参加も必要で、協議会への参加は無料。
