JR East’s Greater Shinagawa-area office has announced a sake-and-food event at six restaurants from October 30 to November 18. The October 28 release covers Takeshiba, Takanawa Gateway City and Oimachi Tracks, within the corridor from Hamamatsucho to Oimachi.
The participating kitchens have developed pairings for Mimurosugi sake from Nara’s Imanishi Shuzo. Conditions vary: some offerings require advance reservations, have daily limits or add a service charge. One salon is for hotel guests. This is a set of individual restaurant offers, not a single ticket guaranteeing access to all six venues.
Local perspective
Presenting one regional sake through different kitchens offers a way to compare how food changes the setting in which a local product is encountered. It also brings a Nara producer’s work into a Tokyo itinerary. The useful comparison depends on checking each venue’s conditions; the announcement does not establish wider distribution gains or increased brewery income.
