Matsuyama’s fire bureau is recruiting children for a practical emergency-response event on November 14, 2026. Around 24 places are available in application order for city pupils in elementary-school grades three through six. Applications close at 5 p.m. on October 30.
The event teaches children how to respond when they find someone injured or collapsed while keeping themselves safe. Activities include calling 119, Japan’s fire and ambulance emergency number, and practising first aid through scenarios. Organizers will assign participants to teams of three. The session runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the disaster-prevention conference room on the sixth floor of the city’s joint public-health and fire-services building. Children should bring lunch and other supplies listed in the notice; guardians may observe without registering.
