About 2,300 participants, including organizers, are expected at a national convention of welfare and child-welfare commissioners in Shiga on October 29–30. The venue is the Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel.
This will be the prefecture’s second time hosting the convention, following its fiscal-1952 meeting 74 years ago. Representatives and welfare-council officials will discuss strengthening the commissioner system and its activities, including the challenge of finding people to serve. Participants also include local-government officials; the announcement describes a gathering for those involved in the welfare system.

全国民生委員児童委員大会が10月29～30日、びわ湖大津プリンスホテルで開かれる。大会関係者を含む約2,300人が参加予定。滋賀県での開催は1952年度以来、74年ぶり2回目となる。委員の担い手確保などを踏まえ、代表者や協議会関係者が制度と活動の充実を話し合う。行政職員なども対象に含まれる。
