JR Kyushu will hold an autumn family festival at the Kyushu Railway History Museum in Mojiko on November 28. The October 29 notice lists hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with last entry at 4:30 p.m. Admission is 500 yen for adults, 250 yen for children through junior-high-school age, and free for children under four.
The programme includes driving simulators, conductor and track-maintenance activities, food sales and special vehicle displays including the Hikoboshi Line BRT. Some experiences cost extra or require numbered tickets. The operator requests public-transport access; the museum is about a seven-minute walk from Mojiko Station.
Local perspective
Putting maintenance and conductor activities beside vehicle displays can widen a museum visit from the machines to the work that keeps transport running. For overseas rail enthusiasts, the BRT display also offers another transport form to compare. The announced variety is not a guarantee that every visitor can join each limited activity.
