Anyone can suggest a name for Yamagata Prefecture’s planned vocational training school in the Shonai region from October 25 to November 30, 2026. Submissions go through the prefecture’s online application system, and the chosen name is expected to be announced around March 2027.
The school is scheduled to open in April 2028 with departments covering digital manufacturing, information technology and metalworking. It will reorganise courses from two existing prefectural training institutions. Proposed names should convey the school’s role in developing industrial skills and be easy to remember. The prefecture says entries will inform the decision; it will not choose a name simply by counting how often it is suggested. Rights to submitted names will belong to the prefecture.
山形県、庄内の新職業能力開発校の名称を募集
山形県は庄内地域で2028年4月開校予定の職業能力開発校について、2026年10月25日〜11月30日に名称案をオンラインで募ります。応募資格は問いません。既存2施設の学科を再編し、デジタルものづくり、情報テクノロジー、金属技術の3学科体制とする計画です。応募の多さで名称を決めるものではなく、応募名称の権利は県に帰属します。決定名称は2027年3月をめどに公表予定です。
