Yamagata’s October economic report retains its assessment that the prefecture’s economy is recovering gradually while showing weakness in some areas. The report, released on October 23, 2026, leaves its overall assessment unchanged from September.
It also keeps its assessments of household spending, industrial production and employment unchanged. Consumer spending is described as resilient despite some weak areas, while production is recovering gradually and employment shows signs of recovery.
The October edition mainly draws on economic indicators for August, so its publication month should not be confused with the reference month of the underlying data. The prefecture also cautions that provisional figures and seasonal adjustments can lead to later revisions.

山形県が10月23日に公表した経済動向月例報告は、県内経済について一部に弱さがあるものの緩やかに持ち直しているとの判断を9月から据え置いた。個人消費、鉱工業生産、雇用の判断も変わらず、消費は弱さを伴いながら底堅く、生産は緩やかな持ち直し、雇用にも持ち直しの動きがあるとする。10月版は主に8月の指標に基づく。速報値や季節調整などによる後日の改定があり得る。
