Gunma has published a record of its agricultural policy council meeting held on September 11, 2026. Members called for a more detailed picture of farm incomes, arguing that averages can obscure differences between large businesses and family-run farms.
The meeting reviewed the prefecture’s 2021–2025 agriculture and rural-development plan and discussed priority measures for fiscal 2026. Eleven council members attended, alongside prefectural officials and secretariat staff.
Other comments concerned heat protection in livestock farming, help with paperwork for organic certification, information about labour-saving machinery and networks for new farmers. These are opinions recorded from council members, rather than announcements that the prefecture has adopted each proposal. The September meeting should not be confused with the later publication of its record.
