Seihokai has released the venue map for Shiratori Festival in Chikusei, Ibaraki. The October 29 announcement sets the dates at November 7 and 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at its Shiratori elder-care facility. Admission is free.
A new Smile Stage brings the total to three stages for music, dance and traditional performance. Thirty stalls and experience booths are planned, with staff and local junior- and senior-high-school volunteers helping serve visitors. Free admission does not establish that every purchase or activity is free. The release’s projected audience should not be read as an attendance result.
Local perspective
Opening a care-facility setting to performances and youth volunteers creates a practical meeting point between welfare work and neighbourhood life. Visitors can see those institutions as part of the local community, rather than only as specialist services. The planned contact is meaningful, but it does not prove a lasting improvement in social inclusion.
