Visitors aged seven and over can try a free virtual-reality road-safety session at Aichi Prefectural Government’s main building on November 3. Up to 90 places are planned across morning and afternoon sessions, with numbered tickets issued at the venue.

The experience lasts about 15 minutes including preparation and a review of the activity. It uses simulated intersections and cycling situations, followed by video showing the perspectives of cyclists, motorists and pedestrians. A digital twin, as explained in the prefecture’s announcement, recreates real-world environments and behaviour in a virtual setting.

Sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m., with final registration at 11:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Participants must sign a consent form, and children under 13 need parental consent. The prefecture says participants’ behaviour will be measured for road-safety research; personal information and measurements will be used only for event operation and research. Aichi and Toyota Technical Development Corporation are organising the event.
