Okayama has opened a design proposal process for a new laboratory building at Higashiokayama Technical High School. First-stage participation documents must be delivered in person by 4 p.m. on November 9, on prefectural working days.
The planned facility brings together company workspace, a laboratory and meeting area, open study space and a study terrace. The outline envisages space for around 100 people during presentations or lectures. Design work is scheduled to finish by August 31, 2027, following the contract.
The lab is intended to connect pupils from different technical departments and schools with local companies through practical, problem-based learning. Students and professional engineers would discuss real development challenges, linking classroom skills to local industry. The notice gives an approximate design-service scale of 24 million yen; that is not an agreed contract price or the whole construction budget.

岡山県は10月21日、東岡山工業高校ラボ新築の基本・実施設計を公募した。一次参加書類は県の休日を除き11月9日午後4時までに持参する。企業等ワーキングスペース、ラボ・ミーティングスペース、オープンスタディスペース、スタディテラスを設け、講演・発表時は約100人の収容を想定。学科・学校を越えた生徒と地元企業が課題解決型学習を行い、技術者と実際の開発課題を議論する場を目指す。設計期限は契約日から2027年8月31日まで。公告の約2400万円は設計業務規模で、契約確定額や施設整備全体の費用ではない。
