Sagamiko MORI MORI in Sagamihara will hold an autumn event on November 22 and 23, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fujikyu announced the plans on October 26. The venue is the park’s event-stage plaza, and some activities may be cancelled in rain.

University students are to help develop and sell food using locally grown produce that falls outside normal market specifications. Other activities use thinned wood from the park and materials otherwise intended for disposal. A booth introduces Sanogawa tea from the nearby Fujino area. Some booths operate only on particular dates or at particular times; park entry and individual activities have separate charges.

Local perspective

Connecting produce, menu development and hands-on reuse makes local resources visible through several stages of work. For visitors, a tasting can therefore lead to questions about who grows, prepares and repurposes materials nearby. The announced activities do not quantify waste reduction or establish that the park has delivered a net environmental benefit.
