Sapporo City reported on October 28 that its Game Camp drew about 2,500 visits over October 9–11. This is an aggregate attendance figure, not a count of distinct visitors. The already completed event involved 21 supporting game companies based in the city.
About 160 students and professional creators formed 20 temporary teams for a two-day game jam, producing 20 games. The programme also included talks, school and company booths, and portfolio reviews. It connected education with local development work; the announcement does not give a measured employment outcome for the camp as a whole.
Local perspective
Working on a shared deadline puts students in contact with the coordination involved in making a game, beyond learning isolated software skills. The local-company involvement makes that contact relevant to Sapporo’s industry. It is a concrete training connection, while the number of projects or visits alone cannot establish lasting job creation.
