Aichi Prefecture is directing road users to maps of locations that could flood during intense rain. The maps cover Owari, Chita and parts of Mikawa; Nagoya’s locations are listed separately by the national government’s regional bureau.
Underpasses are low sections of road beneath other roads or railways, where runoff can collect faster than drainage equipment can remove it. Aichi asks drivers to take another route when a road is flooded and warns that flooding can also occur outside the mapped locations.
愛知県、道路の冠水想定箇所マップを案内
愛知県は、大雨で冠水するおそれがある道路の地図を案内している。対象は尾張、知多、三河の一部で、名古屋市内の情報は国の中部地方整備局のサイトを参照する。道路や鉄道の下を通る低い区間には雨水が集まりやすい。県は冠水した道を避けて迂回するよう呼び掛け、地図にない場所でも冠水する場合があるとしている。
