Facilities in Hachinohe’s Nango area began serving this year’s locally grown new-harvest soba on October 25, the city says in an October 26 update. More festival dates remain this weekend: Michi-no-Eki Nango and Yama no Gakko list October 31 and November 1, while Asamoya no Yakata lists November 1.
The city links separate notices for each venue and asks readers to check the individual programmes. A shared seasonal ingredient does not mean the venues have identical hours, menus or participation rules. The city’s page identifies the new soba as made from buckwheat harvested in Nango, giving the seasonal announcement a specific local origin.
Local perspective
The place of harvest gives food-focused visitors a more precise reason to explore Nango than a generic autumn promotion. Several venues also let a trip be shaped around different settings, provided their programmes are checked separately. This is an opportunity to encounter a local crop, not evidence of higher farm income or guaranteed availability at every stop.
