Gallery O’s opening exhibition in Otoineppu runs October 29–31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free admission. Tamaki, which renovated the space, announced the programme on October 27. The gallery occupies a former music classroom on the second floor of the village’s old junior high school.
The exhibition brings together work by artists connected with the village, including David Nash, and contemporary artists. A reception is scheduled for October 31 at 1 p.m.; participation in the accompanying art ceremony is limited to the first 15 people. These are the opening exhibition’s hours, not a confirmed permanent operating schedule.
Local perspective
Reusing a classroom gives visitors a way to encounter the village’s artistic activity inside an existing community building. Showing locally connected artists alongside newer contributors also frames the collection as an ongoing exchange, rather than a closed historical display. That reading follows the venue and selection; it is not evidence of increased visitor spending.
