Fukuhiro, a textile wholesaler based in Fukui City, announced a polyester-based acoustic material on October 29. The company describes it as about 2.7 millimetres thick and suitable for further processing into products. It is seeking development partners in fields such as pet products, office furniture, interiors and housing.
The material is due to be displayed at Messe Nagoya on November 11–13 at Port Messe Nagoya, within the Fukui textile association booth D-137. Fukuhiro presents the project as an extension of its textile knowledge into acoustic applications. Its announcement includes performance claims, but readers should not assume that a finished room or product will achieve the same effect under different conditions; this article does not independently validate those measurements.
Local perspective
This is a regional-industry story about changing the use of a familiar material, rather than simply increasing textile output. Seeking partners in furniture and pet products makes the route to a finished product explicit: a fabric must be designed into something people can use. That route still requires application-specific testing and customers; development and an exhibition appearance alone do not demonstrate commercial success.
