A technical forum in Nagaoka on October 30 will bring together researchers and business speakers, including a student who started a company this year. Niigata Keizai Shimbun reports that the fifth lecture meeting of the Nagaoka Power Electronics Research Group will run from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Civic Exchange Hall A, on the first floor of Aore Nagaoka’s west building.
The programme covers research, technology trends and workforce development. Five invited speakers are listed, alongside a briefing on the group’s activities by its chair, Junichi Ito, a professor at Nagaoka University of Technology. The meeting is co-hosted with Nagaoka City.
Power electronics concerns converting and controlling electricity efficiently. The group links the city, the university and businesses to share research and strengthen the area’s industrial base; the report says 90 institutions participate.
