Okayama Prefecture is directing small and medium-sized businesses affected by possible unauthorised access or information leaks to a dedicated support site run by Japan’s Information-technology Promotion Agency, known as IPA. Its October 19 notice follows announcements of data theft affecting a range of domestic businesses.
The notice separates specialist cyber-incident support from wider business-management advice. For the latter, it lists the prefectural small-business support centre at the Okayama Industrial Promotion Foundation, on the first floor of Techno Support in Haga, Okayama, reachable on 086-286-9626. Local chambers of commerce and commercial associations also accept management enquiries.
Businesses that have suffered an incident are asked to report it to police. The prefectural page links to IPA’s special site, the business-support centre and the National Police Agency’s unified cyber-incident reporting contact. It does not establish that a particular Okayama company has been breached.
