Okayama has set 10,545 first-year places at its full-time prefectural high schools for fiscal 2027, a reduction of 80 from the previous year. The number of schools recruiting students remains 50, according to the October 23 announcement.
The prefecture expects 16,491 pupils to graduate from junior high schools in March 2027, down 248 from a year earlier. Its capacity planning considers regional enrolment demand and cooperation between public and private schools; municipal high schools set their own quotas.
Applications for the general selection process run from February 24 to 26, 2027. Academic tests are scheduled for March 9, interviews and practical tests for March 10, and successful applicants will be announced on March 17.

岡山県は2027年度の県立高校全日制1年生の募集定員を、前年度より80人少ない1万545人に決めた。募集校は50校で変わらない。2027年3月の県内中学校卒業見込者は前年より248人少ない1万6491人。地域の進学需要や公私の受入体制などを踏まえて定員を策定し、市立高校は各市が決める。一般選抜の出願は2027年2月24～26日、学力検査は3月9日、面接・実技は10日、合格発表は17日の予定。
