Nagoya’s consumer price index for September 2026 was 2.4% above its level a year earlier, Aichi Prefecture reported on October 23. The overall index stood at 102.4 on a scale setting 2025 at 100.

The index excluding fresh food was 102.5, also up 2.4% from a year earlier. Excluding both fresh food and energy, it was 103.0, a 2.7% annual increase.

The prefecture says releases have used the new 2025 base since the July 2026 survey, and historical series have also been revised to that base. Published rates of change are calculated from figures before rounding, so calculations using only the displayed index values may produce different results.
