Iwate Prefecture’s website, updated on October 20, outlines a relocation support program for young people moving from outside the prefecture. The program began in April 2026.
For the general route, the listed base payments are 250,000 yen for a household moving together and 150,000 yen for someone moving alone. Applicants must be under 40 when registering their move to the destination municipality, apply within one year of moving in, and intend to live there for at least five years after applying. Moves for further education or an employer-ordered transfer are excluded. Additional prior-residence and employment, business, remote-work or municipality-specific conditions apply.
The prefecture says availability, requirements and payment amounts can differ by municipality. Applicants should contact the relocation-support office in their destination municipality for the applicable rules and documents.

岩手県は、10月20日更新のウェブサイトで、県外から移住する若者向けの支援制度を案内しています。制度は2026年4月に始まりました。一般枠の基礎額は世帯で25万円、単身で15万円とされています。転入時に40歳未満であること、転入後1年以内の申請、申請後5年以上住み続ける意思などが必要です。進学や転勤による移住は対象外で、移住前の居住期間や就業・起業・テレワーク、または市町村独自の条件もあります。実施状況や要件、金額は市町村によって異なる場合があるため、移住先の担当窓口に確認するよう県が案内しています。
