A sword exhibition at Kurikara Fudoji in Tsubata, Ishikawa, will run from October 30 to November 4, according to the temple’s October 23 announcement. Around 100 swords are planned, including works associated with Hokuriku swordsmiths. Exhibition admission is 1,300 yen.

A special IR Ishikawa Railway train is scheduled to leave Kanazawa at 10:26 a.m. and reach Tsubata at 10:39 a.m. during the exhibition. A separate shuttle links Tsubata Station and the mountaintop temple; it costs 1,000 yen each way. The commemorative adult rail pass costs 500 yen and covers Kanazawa–Kurikara for one day, subject to availability. It does not make the shuttle free. Visitors should check the operators’ latest timetables and ticket conditions.

Local perspective

The rail-and-shuttle arrangement turns a temple exhibition into a journey with distinct transport stages. For travellers interested in sword culture, the practical point is to budget for the last leg separately and verify the return connection, rather than treat a rail pass as door-to-door access. The announcement supports that planning distinction; it does not establish a rise in regional visitor spending.
