Aichi’s main prefectural government building will be illuminated in orange from 5 to 10 p.m. on October 29, 2026, as part of World Stroke Day. The prefecture says Nagoya City Hall’s main building will also take part. This will be the fifth such illumination at the prefectural building.
World Stroke Day is an annual awareness day on October 29. According to Aichi’s announcement, it was established to mark the creation of the World Stroke Organization in 2006. The Japanese Stroke Association uses the day for a nationwide campaign, including illuminated buildings and monuments, to raise awareness of stroke symptoms and the importance of emergency care.
Aichi says the display is intended to help residents learn about the awareness day and deepen their understanding of stroke.
