The Okitama Public Health Centre’s dog-and-cat rehoming board, updated through October 23, 2026, says no animals are currently available for adoption directly from the centre. Resident-submitted rehoming notices are displayed separately.
The distinction matters because the public health centre does not act as an intermediary for arrangements between residents. Its own adoption process requires a preparatory course and a written commitment from a backup carer under 65 who could continue caring for the animal if necessary.
Adults living in Okitama’s three cities and five towns may request space on the residents’ board. Commercial use is excluded, and transfers must be free. Listings are normally displayed for about two months; people who find a new owner are asked to tell the centre. Individual advertisements should be checked directly for their current status.
