Shakotan Tourism Association’s October 31 access update says the route from Cape Kamui’s management gate B to the cape’s tip remains closed for fence-improvement work. The stated closure runs from October 5 to early April 2027, including the winter closure period. Parking-side paths and the viewing square remain available under the notice’s conditions.
The association separately says the path descending from the Shimamui Coast viewpoint to the shore remains off limits because safety has not been secured following avalanche and heavy-rain impacts. The viewpoint itself is available. October’s outer Cape Kamui gate schedule is 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with last entry at 4:30, but weather can close it earlier. These are access conditions checked on October 31, not a forecast that every area will remain open on a later visit.
Local perspective
The distinction between a viewpoint and the path beyond it changes what a coastal visit actually offers. A photograph of the cape or a general gate-opening time does not establish access to the tip or beach. For visitors travelling a long distance, checking the exact route and current weather restrictions is therefore part of choosing the destination, rather than a minor detail after arrival.
積丹の10月31日案内、展望地と閉鎖遊歩道を区別
積丹観光協会の10月31日案内は、神威岬の管理ゲートBから岬先端までの遊歩道を柵改修のため通行止めとする。期間は冬期閉鎖を含む10月5日～2027年4月上旬。駐車場側の遊歩道や展望広場は案内条件のもと利用できる。別の島武意海岸では雪崩・大雨後の安全確保ができず、展望台から海岸へ下りる道は立入禁止が続くが展望台は利用可。神威岬の10月の国道側ゲートは8～17時30分、最終入場16時30分で、天候により早く閉じることがある。10月31日時点の条件であり、後日の全域開放を保証しない。
独自考察
展望台とその先の道を区別すると、海岸訪問で実際にできることが分かる。岬の写真やゲートの開放時間だけでは、先端や浜への立入りまで確認できない。遠くから訪れる旅行者には、経路と直近の天候制限を調べることが、到着後の細かな手続きではなく目的地選択の一部になる。
