NANKAI reported on October 29 that the completed October 15–18 Halloween event at Namba recorded 168,351 entries to its plaza venue. The total combines camera counts at three entrances between noon and 9 p.m. across four days; it is not a count of distinct people.

The programme used the plaza, the Nankai Namba Station staircase and decorated railway vehicles. The plaza event and staircase display have ended. The announcement separately lists the vehicle wrapping as planned through November 15. NANKAI and its partners describe possible expansion to other cities, but future attendance ambitions are not achieved results.

Local perspective

Using transport spaces as well as a plaza places a cultural programme along everyday routes, where people may encounter it without a separate venue trip. That is a useful model for examining urban events. Entrance counts alone, however, cannot establish additional overnight stays or local spending.
