Five municipalities in Gunma are to receive Pokémon-themed manhole covers donated by The Pokémon Company, the prefecture announced. Numata, Tatebayashi, Shibukawa, Shimonita and Naganohara will install the covers at local visitor destinations.
Known as Poké Lids, the individually designed covers connect Pokémon imagery with the attractions of each area. Gunma lists locations near Fukiware Falls, Tsutsujigaoka Fureai Center, the Ikaho Ropeway station, Shimonita’s coconita exchange facility and the Yamba Furusatokan roadside station. Installation dates should be checked with the municipalities. The prefecture’s October 23 unveiling was scheduled as a press event, rather than a public installation ceremony.

群馬県は、沼田・館林・渋川・下仁田・長野原の5市町に株式会社ポケモンからマンホール蓋「ポケふた」が寄贈され、自治体が設置すると発表しました。吹割の滝遊歩道入口や伊香保ロープウェイ駅前などが設置先です。地域の魅力とポケモンを結び付ける独自デザインで、設置日の詳細は各市町への確認が必要です。10月23日のお披露目会は報道機関向けです。
