Two athlete-led lessons at Matsuyama’s Kume Elementary School will begin earlier on October 27. The revised sessions run from 8:10 to 9:50 a.m. and from 10 to 11:40 a.m., according to the city’s October 23 notice.
Double-dutch athlete Kai Ichikawa is scheduled to teach that day’s fifth-year pupils. The October 26 sessions with former professional kickboxer Tatsufumi Tomihira retain their original times of 8:25–10:05 a.m. and 10:20 a.m.–noon.
The lessons belong to the JFA Kokoro Project’s Dream Classroom programme, in which athletes use personal experiences to help pupils think about cooperation, goals and overcoming setbacks. Matsuyama’s original announcement describes games in the gym followed by classroom discussion and written reflection. The time change concerns the October 27 lessons at the school, rather than an invitation to a public sports event.
