Employees of construction firms took part in a bird-flu response drill in the Morioka area on October 14, 2026, according to an Iwate prefectural update published on October 20. The firms belong to the Morioka branch of the Iwate construction industry association and would carry out burial work for culled poultry under an agreement with the prefecture. After a lecture on disease-control operations, staff practised putting on and removing protective clothing under the guidance of the prefecture’s central livestock hygiene service centre. The training was held ahead of the season when the risk of highly pathogenic bird flu increases.

岩手県の10月20日更新によると、10月14日に盛岡地域で鳥インフルエンザなどへの防疫対応訓練が行われました。県との協定に基づき、処分した家きんなどの埋却作業を担う岩手県建設業協会盛岡支部の会員企業の社員が参加しました。防疫対応の講義を受けた後、県中央家畜保健衛生所の指導で、防護服を着たり脱いだりする方法を確認しました。高病原性鳥インフルエンザのリスクが高まる季節を前に、発生時に備えた訓練です。
