Kyoto Prefecture will hold a free food-waste seminar on November 24, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m., with attendance at the Kyoto Economic Center or online through Zoom. Applications close November 19. Places are available in order of application: 40 in the room and 100 online.
The prefecture identifies commercial practices across the food supply chain as a source of business food waste, including delivery deadlines and the way best-before dates are displayed. The seminar will introduce findings from its fiscal 2025 survey and a collection of practical examples. The program also includes presentations on initiatives by Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan, the Kokubu Group and FamilyMart. The announcement describes measures to examine, rather than new binding requirements for businesses.
