Kyoto’s Tango Umi to Hoshi no Mieru Oka Park will host an arts festival from November 21 to 24, with exhibitions, artists working in public and hands-on workshops.
The daily programme runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A main event on November 22 runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., adding food stalls and activities to the public art-making programme. Entry to the festival is free, though some November 22 activities require payment in cash.
The event uses wood, stones and soil found in the park, as well as its landscape, as material for artists and art-university students. That approach ties the work to the park’s natural setting and lets visitors see how pieces are made. The prefecture links to the park’s own event pages for details and applications.
