A free festival beneath Nagoya’s Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER will introduce visitors to Aichi’s crafts, local food and performing traditions on November 21 and 22. Both days run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the prefecture’s October 23 announcement.
Planned activities include workshops connected with Arimatsu tie-dyeing and Bishu yarn and fabric, alongside a stamp rally and displays of local attractions. Traditional performances include a visitor participation programme involving Nagoya geisha’s shachi pose on November 21, from 11:50 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., and a tea preparation demonstration on November 22, from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Programmes and performers may change.
Aichi created its prefectural residents’ day, November 27, following the 150th anniversary of the prefectural administration in 2022. The seven days from November 21 to 27 are designated Aichi Week; the two-day festival promotes that wider observance.
