TableMark has named its planned Kagawa facility the Sanuki Kanonji Factory, the company announced on October 29. Operations are scheduled to begin in October 2027. The announcement names a future production site; it does not report that the factory is already making products.
The company plans centralised management and packaging automation, alongside solar panels and energy-saving equipment. It positions the facility as an important frozen-noodle production base. The Sanuki name refers to TableMark’s more than fifty years of frozen Sanuki udon production, connecting the new site’s identity with an established regional food association. Efficiency and environmental improvements are presented as aims of the planned equipment.
Local perspective
The name illustrates how a regional food identity also operates within industrial production, beyond restaurant tourism. Pairing that identity with packaging automation points to a business concerned with producing and distributing noodles at scale. Until the plant operates, equipment plans alone cannot demonstrate productivity gains, emissions reductions or additional local employment.
