Chiba recorded about 172.26 million visits to tourist locations and events in 2025, up 0.8% from the previous year, according to preliminary figures released on October 23.
The survey covered 527 tourist locations and 251 festivals and events. Tokatsu accounted for the largest regional share, followed by Chiba, Imba and Kimitsu; together, those four areas represented about 79% of the total.
These are cumulative visits counted at locations, rather than a count of distinct people. Overnight stays are a separate measure, drawn from the Japan Tourism Agency’s accommodation survey: Chiba recorded around 28.24 million guest-nights in 2025, down 0.1%, including approximately 4.38 million foreign guest-nights, down 0.7%. The two measures describe different aspects of tourism and should not be added together.

千葉県は10月23日、2025年の観光入込客数の速報を公表した。観光地点527か所と行祭事・イベント251か所の延べ入込数は約1億7226万人地点で前年比0.8％増。東葛飾地域が最多で、千葉・印旛・君津を合わせた4地域が約79％を占める。入込数は地点ごとの延べ回数で、重複を除いた実人数ではない。別集計の観光庁宿泊旅行統計では、県内宿泊は延べ約2824万人泊で0.1％減、うち外国人は約438万人泊で0.7％減。地点訪問と宿泊は単位・集計方法が異なる。
