Asahikawa is asking residents about everyday life and their views on city development as it reviews its urban planning master plan. The survey runs from October 21 to November 13, 2026, with a response form linked from the city’s announcement.

The master plan describes the city’s intended shape roughly 20 years ahead, including land use and urban facilities. In practical terms, it considers where housing, shops, hospitals and public facilities belong, alongside roads, bus routes, parks, greenery and disaster preparedness. The city says it will publish survey results on its website and use them to consider the revised draft. The survey is part of the review process; it does not itself announce that particular facilities or routes will change.
