Shiga’s tax council will discuss a proposed new tax to support transport at its October 26 meeting, scheduled from 3 to 4:45 p.m. The agenda covers an interim report on the regional transport plan and the reasons, principles and possible uses of a new tax.
Council members will meet online, while up to ten observers can attend the prefectural main building’s third-floor special meeting room on a first-come basis. The notice’s October 23 noon deadline for applying to observe through Zoom has already passed.
The council examines prefectural taxation against fairness, neutrality and simplicity, as well as local administrative needs. The scheduled discussion is part of that review; the announcement does not establish a tax rate or an implementation date. Observers at the venue are asked to bring a smartphone or tablet for the paperless meeting.

滋賀県は10月26日午後3時～4時45分、第30回県税制審議会をオンラインで開き、地域交通を支える新たな税の検討理由・理念・位置付け・使途の考え方や、滋賀地域交通計画に基づく取組の中間報告を議論する。県庁本館3階特別会議室に傍聴席10人分を設け、希望者は直接来場し先着順。Zoom傍聴の申込期限だった10月23日正午は過ぎている。県税制を公平・中立・簡素の原則と行政需要から検討する審議の一環で、発表は税率や施行日を決定したものではない。会場傍聴者はペーパーレス対応のためスマートフォン等を持参する。
