Tama will hold its book-town festival on November 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the former Tomizawa residence in Tama Central Park and the city’s central library. Park manager TAMA Central Park JV announced the programme on October 27.

The old house will host reading on tatami, a book exchange and storytelling, alongside a café selling refreshments. Koto performances and hands-on sessions are scheduled for 11 a.m.–noon and 1–2 p.m.; those koto activities are free and require no reservation. A separate book quiz trail runs November 8–23 across nine library, bookshop, garden and house locations. The one-day festival and the longer trail have different calendars.

Local perspective

The old-house and library pairing places reading alongside architecture and live cultural activity, giving visitors several ways to approach a local book event even without shopping for a title. The distinction between the single festival day and the multi-day trail matters for planning: arriving during the trail does not establish that the koto sessions or café are operating then. No foreign-language programme is specified in the announcement.
