Award-winning posters from a Murayama-area primary-school competition are being shown at venues around the Yamagata region. The prefecture’s October 19 notice reports 1,428 entries from 76 schools, with one top award, five excellence awards and 12 commendations.
The competition asked children to combine pictures and slogans that encourage people to eat rice. Its display programme takes the resulting work into municipal libraries, civic facilities and government-building lobbies, rather than keeping the results on an awards list.
The published schedule includes Obanazawa’s Yubikan until October 28 and Tendo City Hall until October 30, followed by Oishida’s Niji no Plaza from October 27 to November 3. Later stops continue into February 2027.
Dates may change, and displays may not be available on the first or last day because of setup. Visitors should check with the host municipality’s agricultural section or the Murayama regional office.
